Particularly when it comes to direct bookings (jobs booked without the client seeing you in person), candid snapshots take on crucial importance. As nearly all tearsheets are digitally enhanced in some way or another, casting folks often lament that models look far different from their picture-perfect portfolios. That's why agencies typically require polaroids, first as a means to select whom they'd like to bring onto their books and subsequently to have on hand should clients request them. thanks if you could answer this for me.
(:
take care.
i particularly like to hear the response for question 4 :)
hey ace, no problem. here you go:
1)why modelling?
The question really is why not? Modelling is a big departure from my previous line of work, but it was also an opportunity too good to pass up. The chance to go to far-flung places and meet great people, all while making a living? Pretty easy decision really.
2)best perks of modelling?
Having greater ownership of my own schedule. Yes, last-minute castings and jobs pop up every now and again, but for the most part, my days and what I choose to do with them are structured largely by me.
3)your most unforgettable modelling experience?
Tough one. Would probably say shooting the Winter 07 and Spring/Summer 08 Swatch campaigns in Mallorca. It checked all the boxes – beautiful location, great photographer and crew, and I was pleased with how the pictures came out.
4)what you wish to achieve as a model
World peace? When I think of “achievement”, I think of something a lot grander and more purposeful than just booking a certain campaign or walking for a particular designer. At the end of the day, it’s a job like anything else and I’m clearly not providing fresh water supplies to war-torn villages or caring for the sick and disenfranchised, at least not directly. But if the money I earn can go towards such deserving causes, I admit I do feel a tiny sense of achievement.
5)and finally.
advice to wannabe models like us out there.
Be persistent and deliberate. Your look is what it is but your mindset is yours to determine. It’s a brutal industry and you should approach it knowing that it’s not always going to be fun and glamorous. There will be slow periods, there will be tons of competition, but if you’re passionate about it, give it your best effort, get some good shots taken, walk into a few agencies and see what happens. I wish you the very best of luck :)
thanks richie.
im sure my blog readers will like what you have got to say.

unfortunately, most people choose to do it as a "sidejob", because not everybody is as lucky as marcus (that first male supermodel) who can still get very high-paying assignments at his age.. and hes been doing so for a long long time..
