hey zi siong, i was here for SFF last year but just came into town a few days ago for a direct booking and then heading back to london again. did you see some of the shows?

Richie said...

hey ace, good to hear from you again. been acclimating myself slowly to this intense singaporean heat! work's been good and i did meet leandro a couple of times at the agency and at castings. nice guy - i presume he's your other favorite? :p

Ace Azri said...

yeah. he is my other favourite. :P
i was working at the SFF this year as an usher.and i saw him. but was too shy to ask for a photo.
so you still in singapore? any new shoots out from you soon?
anyway if you meet leandro again. can you tell him i am such a fan of him and will love to get a photo with him :P

and also a photo with you. hehe. update soon yeah.

hey richie, good to hear that ure coping well with the weather in Singapore, haha, did you know our weather was much cooler in march, but now its so freaking hotttt.

anyway, i did not watch SFF because I am solely into men's wear, and the men shows in SFF were either highly-priced/were by invitation only. =(

three questions for ya - what got you so hooked into modelling (i supposed there are other jobs that are more flexible in work hours)and how do you maintain a good complexion in such a terrible weather in Singapore (my complexion is actually pretty good, but it could get oily on the nose, other wise, its clear and smooth)?

Zi Siong said...

yes i want a photo with you too haha

Richie said...

hehe, will let leandro know that he has a fan.
just got back to london. had a great time in singapore but i know i'll be back again soon. shot stills for starhub so let me know if you come across it.

ZS, the flexibility is a BIG plus and i am grateful for the greater sense of ownership i have over my schedule. this line of work has enabled me to go places and meet people i probably wouldn't otherwise. have had some great life experiences along the way so it was an easy choice really.
as for skin, it's all about hydration. lots of water throughout the day and it's also important to avoid unnecessary/excessive sun exposure (major cause of premature aging) and heavy creams given the humid climate (clogged pores very easily lead to breakouts)...

thanks richie

hehe. hopefully i get to meet you and leandro one day. *cross fingers*

and i will keep a look out for the starhub ad (:
cant wait for the next update.
take care at london

Richie said...

thanks mate. you take care too. have you made the rounds to the various agencies and done some tests to build up your book? good luck with that.

hehe. not yet. im still working on a body first. i think i have yet to get the model body. skinny just dont cut it you know. and im only 17 turning 18. so i have my time. i think (:

i just took random shots taken by my friends. which i doubt is good enough.
if you have time check it out and tell me watcha think (:

any tips for me how to gain that "model" bod?

and the starhub ad is it a print ad or a commercial?

hey hey i just realised theres another model wannabe in the name of ace azri here! :)(u visited my friendster profile too right? hehe)

anyway, since i am also into weights training (strength training, not bodybuilding actually), i'd like to recommend this book to u guys: "The New Rules of lifting". It is written by alwyn cosgrove and lou schuler. Azri, you can find it in many brancehes of the National Library. I think this book is an excellent book for starters because it is written in layman terms and the programmes are easy to follow.

richie: thanks for the tip! which product(s) would u recommend for a budget person like me? and do you slap on moisturiser straight after cleansing or do you wait for say 10-15 mins?

Richie said...

no big secrets when it comes to getting in shape, esp at the very early stages. "work hard, eat right" sums it up pretty accurately. the book ZS references sounds like a good one - it's put out by contributors to Men's Health magazine and while those books (and the originating magazine) all tend to rehash a lot of the same info, it's pretty legit and a good starting point.
with regard to bulking up, try to hit the gym 3-5 times a week and targeting different body parts on consecutive days (the rest days are when your body undergoes repair/growth). make sure you eat enough as no fuel = no results.
for skin, i don't follow a particular pattern except for toner right after cleansing. i tend to skip the moisturizer while i'm in asia because the air is so humid/moisture-rich anyhow. in any case, opt for something light/alcohol and fragrance free. cetaphil and neutrogena are good.
ace, the pics are nice - you're clearly quite passionate about this eh? you're still young so plenty of time, esp when it comes to the commercial side of things. and if editorial is your big ambition, skinny will definitely cut it. after all, they don't typically cast bulky types for fashion spreads.
StarHub is print for the new HubStation set top box.

Ace Azri said...

hehe thx for the tip. and compliment
especially coming from a model like you.
yeah its really a passion. so hopefully one day this dream will be realize. maybe as successful as you. *winks*.
but judging from the market in asia. they are more commercialize. models are usually in ads. and those who are in editorials are the ladies. so i think a good body is needed. so yeah. fingers cross for the body.weeee

<3 to u you for all the advices. (:

beginners tend to experience amazing gains - be it strength, mass or definition. i put on 5kg of mass in my first month. haha.
